Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, (presently Onesti(born November 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now One Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to receive a score of a perfect of 10 in an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi, a Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became the coach for Comaneci who first came across Comaneci at the age of six. Her first competition was at the national junior championships in 1969 placing 13th and she won the competition in 1970. In her first international competition in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she was awarded three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. In her very first competition at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals as well being awarded a silver. In 1976, she won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female to ever dismount parallel bars with the double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, she began performing in touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her entertainment career when she was in her teenage years. As a young girl she was a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. They featured dramatic skating on ice shows.
