April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th day of July. She began piano and guitar lessons from age seven. The passion for writing songs was ignited. In April, when she was 12 years old She composed her debut single, Different. At the age of 14, April spent a lot of her time making song lyrics and working on her music. Then she began to take excursions to write with her father, who lived in NY as well as LA. April also added additional themes to the track "Take My Hand" for some of acquaintances who faced problems like peer pressure, problems, as well as teenager suicide. Lockhart also has an ever-growing popularity as a lifestyle influencer as well as a spokesperson for the popular clean beauty company Ilia. She was not born with a left-hand, which is the reason she's what she is. It's just not the whole story. Because of this, her Instagram page doesn't shy away from her disability, but it doesn't center around it as well. What message does it convey? The message? We each contain multitudes, that our identity and physical selves are not all that appear. Lockhart tells Lockhart via video "I am not convinced that my physical appearance should define my character. My goal is not to be an influencer on disability because I have plenty to offer." My daily life isn't dependent on it. I live my normal daily life, and come up with myself solutions for problems. It's a big element of my life and it's imperative to discuss it. Her journey to self-acceptance is one that will last a lifetime, but she has been a source of inspiration for this purpose. Still, she acknowledges going through phases of being uncomfortable with her body and feeling uneasy wearing certain clothing styles that exposed her arms. She now wears any outfit she wishes and shares pictures on her Facebook page with pride. She says that self-love is a process. It's not clear if you'll ever reach the final stage. The same is true for everybody regardless of level of insecurity. I believe that it's really essential to surround yourself with people who can identify and feel your heart.
